Google launches its largest and ‘most capable’ AI model, Gemini Google has announced its largest science and engineering project to date, named "Gemini." The project signifies Google's ongoing efforts to catch up with its rival, OpenAI, in the field of artificial intelligence development. The company aims to surpass OpenAI's ChatGPT and create a more advanced AI system. The incredible language model that comes in three different sizes: Gemini Ultra, the largest and most capable category; Gemini Pro, which is versatile across various tasks; and Gemini Nano, perfect for specific tasks and mobile devices.  According to CEO Sundar Pichai, Gemini is the result of extensive collaboration by Google teams, including Google Research. It was specifically designed to be multimodal, effortlessly understanding and combining different types of information such as text, code, audio, images, and videos.  Gemini replaces the current generation PaLM 2 foundation model that powers Google's suite of AI tools, including YouTube experiments, Bard, and the Duet AI tools in Workspace. It's a major leap forward in advancing AI capabilities. To ensure the language skills of Gemini continue to evolve, Google has made the decision to cancel the planned in-person launch events comparing Gemini to OpenAI's ChatGPT on various tasks.
