It was great to hear the many lively discussions on talent in the Greater Bay Area taking place during the second day of the inaugural Global Talent Summit • Hong Kong hosted by the Hong Kong SAR Government. The diverse skillsets of GBA talent can help drive growth opportunities for Hong Kong and for companies in the wider region.   The success of this event shows that the development of talent continues to be a priority in both Hong Kong and the GBA, and that there is a need not only to attract skilled professionals from overseas and mainland China, but also to ensure that local talent have the resources they need to build up key skills.   The HKIB will continue to work closely with the banking industry to keep abreast of training needs and create a deep and sustainable pool of talent. We look forward to further events that reinforce Hong Kong’s role as a global talent hub.    #GlobalTalentSummit #HongKongTalentEngage

How are professional qualifications driving talent development in the banking industry? Our CEO, Carrie Leung, was recently interviewed in NOW TV’s programme 《理財有方》to share her insights on this topic. Carrie spoke on the growing recognition in the industry of the benefits provided by the HKIB’s Certified Banker (CB) Programme, with the number of applications rapidly increasing each year. Fellow banking practitioners featured in the NOW TV programme, including Zoe Lau, GM and Group Head of People and Sustainability Division and Lawrence Wong, Sustainability Manager, both from The Bank of East Asia, Limited (BEA), spoke on how banks highly value CB Certificate holders and the knowledge that participants gain from this professional qualification.
