AKD sizing agent Ⅰ Product performance Neutral polyester AKD sizing agent is one of newly-developed products in our company for the purpose of avoiding defects such as slow ripening, easy to be under machine moisture regain, high cost, ect. Common AKD emulsion using starch as emulsifier, which cause low retention rate, large dosage, slow ripening. Neutral polyester sizing agent adopts a new type of polymer emulsifier that our company developed independently which takes the petroleum resin as main raw material, and is supplemented by other cationic surfactant.The emulsifier is polymer, high cationic charge density and thus the emulsification has highly efficiency, uniform dispersion, and small particle size. The manufactured AKD sizing agent ripens fast with high efficiency and the dosage can be reduced more than 10% compared with ordinary AKD products. Ⅱ The Main Technical Indicators 1. Appearance: white emulsion 2. PH value: 3-5 3. Solid content: 15% ± 1% ， 25% ± 2% 4. Iconicity: cationic 5. storage period: 3 months (5-30 ℃ ) Ⅲ Applicable scope 1. High content of product is suitable for surface sizing, may be wholly or partly replace internal sizing agent.It has excellent water resistance effect. 2. Low content of product is suitable for internal sizing.It couod use calcium carbonate as the filler. Per ton absolute dry pulp adds 0.25 kg of polyacrylamide and the molecular is 6.0 million. The results will be better. Ⅳ Attention 1. PH value of the forward mesh headbox is controlled in 6.8 ~ 8.5. If less than 6.8, adding alkali to adjust it. 2, The paper factory should select the best ratio, adding locations and adding way according to the specific situation. 3. Make sure that at least one of the paper machine’s drying cylinders temperature do not lower than 95 ℃ . 4. The equipment and pipeline should be thoroughly cleaned by change acidic papermaking into mediate alkaline papermaking.
